These A-36 carbon steel constants have a hot dipped galvanize finish and designed for an oil refinery. They have a single lug suspension and can support a piping load of 5,031 lb. The dimensions are 36 1/2″H x 21″L x 11 5/8″W. This type of spring support is designed to support the pipeline from above using a carbon steel clamp.

These molecular sieve vessels are designed for a biofuel production line. They are fabricated from stainless steel with carbon steel base rings. The vessels have an outside diameter of 24″ and measures 214″ in length. The maximum allowable working pressure is 123 PSIG @ 400ºF. These ASME Code pressure vessels were hydro-tested at 160 PSIG and x-ray tested prior to being shipped to the customer.

This constant spring support is fabricated from A-36 carbon steel and measures 39″ long x 29″ high x 11″ wide. This replacement support is designed to carry 11,000 lb. of piping load with a travel of 2 1/2″ upward. The limiting design factor was to stay within existing structural boundaries while allowing the constant assembly to move through its designed travel range.

Shipping Pre-Insulated Supports

Piping Technology & Products, Inc. designed and fabricated rotational anchor pre-insulated pipe supports for a fluid processing plant in Kuwait. The supports range in size from 24″ to 34″ in diameter and are capable of withstanding 12,500 lb. of vertical load. The bottom of the hot shoe is fabricated from carbon steel and the top from stainless steel.

These supports include stainless steel inner thrust plates that function as an anchor to prohibit the pipe from rotating within the shoe. These supports are designed for steam super heater lines and provide thermal insulation for the pipe in order to prevent heat loss and condensation.

Slideplates on Big Ton Spring Assembly

This big ton spring assembly is designed for a local area refinery, and is fabricated from carbon steel components with a painted finish. The top of the load flange has three PTFE, 25% glass filled slide plates. The base is 96″ x 18″ and the installed height is 24″. This big ton spring will be utilized to support heavy (in excess of 76,000 lb.) loads where a standard variable spring would be undersized. The big ton spring design includes an array of parallel coils within one frame to produce large load carrying capacity while maintaining the same spring rate. The assembly is designed to withstand an operating load of 76,800 lb. and has a downward travel of 0.894″.

Prior to fabrication, each of the coils were individually tested to insure correct spring rate and load capacity. After fabrication, the entire assembly was tested throughout the entire load and travel range.

23" Modified F-Type Variable Springs with Rollers

PT&P custom designed and fabricated these F-type variable springs with rollers to be used in a refinery in Kansas. The variables are fabricated from carbon steel with a stainless steel clamp-on shoe that attaches to the load column. These F-type variable spring assemblies measure 23″ in height and have an upward travel of 3″. The operating load is 1,000 lb. and the installed load is 1,300 lb. The function of this custom designed variable spring is to allow large axial movement along the axis of the pipe centerline. The load column is modified to accommodate the special clamp-on shoe. The customized wheels allow for movement of the entire spring assembly in conjuction with the pipe.

These cold shoe anchors are designed to support pipe sizes ranging from 8″ to 36″ in diameter. The measurements of the base plate are between 18″ and 36″ in length and between 8″ and 22″ in width. The saddle is fabricated from stainless steel and the base plate is galvanized steel. Micarta insulation material, between the base plate and the saddle, functions to insulate the extremely cold pipeline. These cold shoe anchors are manufactured for large axial and lateral capacities.

This sway strut is fabricated from carbon steel and measures 240″ from pin to pin. The pipe is 6″ in diameter and has a load capability of 15,000 lbs. The components were completed with a hot-dipped galvanize finish and the pipe was coated with a shop primer. The function of a sway strut is to restrain movement of piping in one direction while providing for movement due to thermal expansion or contraction in another direction.

This particular sway strut will support a 30″ process line in a refinery. This type of support is necessary, because the current line has only a few I-beams for support. Additionally, the I-beams that support the line are very high off the ground and not capable of handling the large forces acting on the line. Due to the loads acting upon the pipe and length of the required strut, a heavy schedule pipe and heavier duty strut ends were necessary.
