How much movement can variable springs take?

In general terms, the amount of vertical deflection that can be accommodated by the variable springs is dependent upon the spring rate. In practicality, PTP-1 is used for travels one-quarter inch or less, PTP-2 for travels are one-half inch or less, PTP-4 is one-inch or less, PTP-6 two-inches or less, and PTP-8 is three-inches or less. In terms of horizontal deflection, all variable spring assemblies can accommodate a maximum of + or - 4 degrees. Therefore the magnitude of the horizontal deflection will depend upon the overall length of the entire assembly.
