Flue Gas Duct Damper

The two pictures above show a flue gas duct damper fabricated using Inconel for certain components by the Sweco Fab division of Piping Technology & Products, Inc. Two of these dampers were shipped to Trinidad for installation above the furnaces of an ammonia plant. They have a special refractory lining to withstand the high temperatures of the flue gases. The picture at the left show the linkage of the damper to the motor-driven control system. Each unit weighs approximately 2300 lb. and the openings are approximately 12 feet by 6 feet.
