Piping Technology & Products, Inc. Designs and Manufactures Various Sized Saddles for a Power Project in California  9/6/02  (PT&P Ref # 63076)

Piping Technology & Products, Inc. designed and manufactured saddles for a power project in California.

The saddles were built for 12", 24" and 30" pipe and the loads varied from 1,500 pounds to a maximum design load of 20,000 pounds. The saddle and its components will hang from a beam in the field by spring hangers to complete what is known as a "trapeze" hanger assembly. In order to prevent movement, the supported pipes will be secured to the curved portion of the saddle with u-bolts.

The saddle and u-bolt were made of Chrome-Moly where the design temperature is 1065ºF. The beams and attachment hardware were all made of carbon steel, where the temperature is less than 750 º F.
