APPLICATIONS OF EXPANSION JOINTS IN TYPICAL PIPING SYSTEMS

This section presents some typical piping systems in which various movement and force limitation conditions are shown with suggested expansion joint solutions. In these examples, the various types of expansion joints are shown so that their operation and characteristics can be more clearly understood and demonstrated. Hopefully the piping designer will see in these examples enough similarity to his piping problem that the easiest and most economic solution would present itself quickly.
