| The geometry, movement,
temperature, and pressure, and the number
of cycles of the system where the
expansion joint is to be installed define
the design parameters. Design parameters
includes the correct selection of
materials and other alternatives to meet
the requirements at a minimum cost for
the economic life of the system. The
photos to the right and below show
aluminum bellows which are installed in a
system which contains liquids at
cryogenic temperatures that turn into
gases at lower pressures and higher
temperatures. |

aluminum bellows have special quality
control tests using helium to assure that
the welds do not leak. PT&P's quality
program assures that all types of
expansion joints meet the requirements
specified by the design engineers |
