COMPANY HISTORYCOMPANY OVERVIEW: PT&P began as an engineering consulting firm, located in the heart of the Gulf Coast petrochemical industry. The early rapid growth of the company can be directly attributed to the service provided to this thriving market. PT&P's gradually increased its capabilities and expanded both the products and services offered and the industries served. PT&P was incorporated in Texas in 1978. In 1986 we acquired Sweco Fab, Inc., an ASME Code pressure vessel shop to compliment our product line. In 1989 the major manufacturing facilities of both companies moved to our present headquarters. PT&P acquired the metal expansion joint business of RM Engineered Products, Inc. of Ladson, SC in 1995. The machinery and technology acquired provided the capability to manufacture metal bellows. In 1997 PT&P acquired U.S. Bellows of San Diego, CA, another manufacturer of metal bellows. The Milestones chart shown below shows a general view of the company's growth from it's beginnings in 1978 to the present. Notable is the continued growth during the economic decline and low unemployment rate of the early through middle part of the 80's. Also apparent are the major companies that have been associated with PT&P over the years, such as Dow Chemicals, Exxon, Boise Cascade, and Houston Lighting and Power. The top of the graph outlines the major steps in the company's production, from the first variable spring design to the purchasing of NPS, which allows us to manufacture our own polyurethane for piping insulation, to the acquisition of U.S. Bellows just this year.
