Marinite® is widely used as an insulating material in hot piping support applications, with Grade P (Marinite-P) being the most commonly specified due to its excellent structural properties.
Marinite-P is well-suited for structural insulation thanks to its high dimensional stability, ensuring consistent performance under varying thermal and load conditions. It is incombustible, offers high thermal insulation values, and provides excellent compressive strength, making it ideal for high-load, high-temperature environments.
Additionally, Marinite® helps minimize decay, rust, and corrosion at the pipe support interface. Its durability allows it to withstand handling and installation conditions while providing long-term, reliable service. The material is also effective in fireproofing and heat-processing applications, with a maximum service temperature of up to 1200°F (649°C).
Major Advantages:
• High Compressive Strength.
Deflects less than 1/10 in. per inch of thickness under 4000 psi
Deflects less than 3/64 in. per inch of thickness under 2000 psi
• High Tensile strength.
• High resistance to shear and traverse forces.
Major Applications:
• Hot Line Pipe Supports in Power Generation and Process Industries
• Structural Insulation in Pipe
• Supports Backup Insulation in Rotary Kilns of Lime and Cement Plants.
• Ceramics and Foundry applications.
